300 Needy Families Received Baskets of Food for Rosh Hashana

A joint operation between city officials, rabbis, the police, high schoolers, industrial heads, and private donors succeeded in raising enough money and food staples to provide holiday food baskets for 300 needy families. Deputy Mayor Nuriel Getz, holder of the municipality’s social welfare portfolio and “commander” of the operation praised the efforts of all participants: “I think it was one of the most touching operations of its kind,” Getz said, after door-to-door solicitations by high-schoolers with the help of the police provided enough food staples to make 100 food baskets. “Rami Levy”, “Mister Zol”, the Ma’ale Adumim Fund, a donation of NIS 20,000 from Jerusalem’s Rodef Shalom V’Hesed non-profit organization, and a private donation of NIS 10,000 in remembrance of Eliahu and Mazal Moshe, z”l provided funding for the remaining baskets.
