ON DERECH KEDEM: Residents are advised that roadwork will be taking place on Derech Kedem in order to improve pedestrian and driver safety near the M.A. mall. Construction is expected to take two months.

Course in First Aid for 9th and 10th Graders
Ninth and 10th graders (15-16 year olds) who are interested in joining the M.A. Magen David Adom Volunteers will soon have a chance to do so. A course in first aid will be offered for a symbolic fee during Hanukka vacation. Graduates of the training must commit to volunteering in Magen David Adom for one year. 20,000 Tourists in the Binyamin Region during Succot
Thanks in part to the “Binyamin – Something Good ‘N Close” media campaign before the holidays, more than 20,000 visitors crammed tourist sites all over the Binyamin region. Many MA residents took advantage of the nice weather to take a plunge in the Ein Mavoah (Ein Fuar) spring located in the valley north of Kfar Adumim and Alon.

24-hour Access at Nofei Sela (07) Entrance?
Mayor Beni Kashriel promised to investigate “in a supportive manner” a request by Nofei Sela residents to keep open the entrance gate to their neighborhood 24-hours a day, even if they would have to pay for the privilege. Following on the heels of a proposal disclosed last week to keep both the northern and southern city entrances open at a cost of NIS 2 per family per month, the mayor intends to bring up the Nofei Sela matter in discussions with city officials. A decision will be made prior to the start of 2012.

November 1st – International Clean-Up Day
Israel’s Keren Kayemet will mark International Clean-Up Day with its 11th nationwide clean-up campaign. Over 200,000 schoolchildren, soldiers, students, youth groups and more will take part in clean-up operations in over 150 local municipalities throughout Israel, including Ma’ale Adumim. This year, and for the first time, waste disposal will be separated into type: paper, plastic, and organic.
