Yom HaShoah – Holocaust Commemoration Events in Ma’ale Adumim

Yom Hashoah Events in Ma’ale Adumim
This year’s focus is on Jews from North Africa

Tonight, Sunday – April 23, 2017

18:00 – 6 kilometers march in memory of the 6 million Jews
Starts in the area in front of the Matnas
Ends at the cultural center

19:45 – Main Yom HaShoah ceremony at the cultural
center. Organized and led by youth groups

20:45 – Memories in the Living Room – testimony by
Holocaust survivors

Tomorrow, April 24, On Yom HaShoah there will be educational events at all
schools.

Koshering Dishes and Utensils for Passover and Ma’ale Adumim Pesach Times

Hi Everyone!

Below is the schedule where one can kosher their dishes and utensils for Pesach.

1. Central Synagogue – 96 HaNechalim
2. Mitzpe Nevo Mikva
Thursday – April 6: 10:00-20:00
Sunday – April 9: 10:00-22:00

3. Beit Knesset Nofei Sela – 2 Hashechem (07)
Thursday – April 6: 10:00-22:00 only

4. Beit Knesset Or Zaruah and Beit Knesset Or Zaruah yards – HaKaneh (06)
Sunday – April 9: 10:00-22:00

There is no charge for the koshering.

Peasch Times in Ma’ale Adumim:

Bedikat Chametz – Sunday evening April 9

Ta’anit B’chorot – Monday April 10

Finish eating chametz – Monday April 10 at 10:07am (stricter 9:35am)

Finish burning chametz – Monday April 10 at 11:23am (stricker 10:50am)

Finishing the Afikoman on Seder night at: 00:40am

You can sell your chametz at all the synagogues and at all
koshering stations.

It will take place from 10:00 to 16:00.
Entrance is free.

Hi Everyone!

Today, February 27, the A.H.A.V.A. Readathon Awards Ceremony
took place at Eshkol Hapayis in Ma’ale Adumim.

Congratulations to everyone that participated in the readathon.

Before the awards, Ofer Goren gave a great Purim pantomime show.
I was close to the stage and suddenly he motioned me to come up on stage.
He dressed me up as Mordechai and I followed his lead.
Several people took photos but I have not seen any yet. I wonder if anyone
filmed the Purim dancing scene at the end of the show. My first acting gig in
Israel could have been a viral video on Youtube :-]

Photos of Giant Chanukiyah on E1

Hi Everyone!

On Wednesday and Thursday a group of residents went
up on E1 (Mevaseret Adumim) and built a giant chanukiyah.
The chanukiyah was made of around 450 candles in falafel bags,
set down on the ground in the shape of a menora.
