Lag Ba’Omer Events in Ma’ale Adumim

Nachalat Yehuda will be having a Lag Ba’Omer
bonfire / barbeque on Wednesday night starting at
20:00.
It will be located next to the beit midrash on the
side of the basketball courts.
Bring your own meat to cook and/or bring a snack
to share.

Chabad of Ma’ale Adumim will be having a Lag Ba’Omer
bonfire / barbeque on Wednesday night starting at
20:00
There is a charge to cover the food costs.

This year, due to the heatwave, Ma’ale Adumim will
be restricting bonfires to 7 locations in the city.
Please read 11 safety rules about the bonfires on the
city’s Hebrew Facebook page at:

Please follow safety procedures.

The 7 locations for bonfires in Ma’ale Adumim are:

1. In the open area between the old college building
and the main parking lot at the entrance of the city.

2. The public area opposite Dor Alon gas station
in Nofei Hasela

3. In the open area opposite the synthetic soccer
field in the back of Dor Alon gas station in Nofei
Hasela

4. In the open area near the Ort Air Force High School in
Nofei Hasela

5. Rechov Hatzur near the shopping center “Zol U’vegadol”

6. Near the Bnei Akiva building in Mitzpe Nevo

7. At the main city (lake) entrance between the lake and
the soccer field.

Weather permitting, I may be out taking photos of
the bonfires Wednesday night in the open area
opposite the police station (location #1 on the map).

Event: Dekel Fair for the Soldiers – Thursday, May 16, 2019

Hi Everyone!

Thursday, May 16, the Dekel Vilnai school in Ma’ale Adumim
will be having their annual school fair to raise money for
IDF lone soldiers.
The fair will be in their schoolyard from 17:00-20:00.
The entrance is near the bicycle traffic circle (#5).

Yom Ha’atzmaut Events in Ma’ale Adumim


Hi Everyone!

The Ma’ale Adumim Yom Ha’atzmaut celebrations
will start Wednesday night, May 8.

The Hebrew flyers are posted below the English announcements.

May 8, 2019 – Eve of Independence Day

19:00 – Outside Mitzpe Nevo Yeshiva High School
Devrei Torah, kidergarden performances, flag dance,
lighting the torches, Maariv

19:00 – Sde Chemed – Mincha
performances, booths, dancing

20:00-23:00 – Israel Independence Day Celebrations
Location: Central Park

21:00 – Einat Sarouf and Hatikva 6 will be the
featued performers in Central Park

There will also be performances by Matnas groups.

There will be two fireworks rounds in Ma’ale Adumim.
The fireworks will take place around 9:00pm and 10:30pm

Derech Hagai (street near the fireworks rocket launches)
will be closed twice between 20:45-21:15 and 22:15-22:45

May 9 – Yom Ha’atzmaut

Between 11:03am and 11:12am the Israel Air Force planes
are scheduled to fly over Ma’ale Adumim.
The aircraft include the “Adir” F35I fighter

On Yom Ha’atzmaut, the Hayaaran Forest picnic area will be
open for picnics from 9:00am to 4:00pm . There will be
inflatable children’s structures and activities.
There will also be army and fire department exhibitions.

The entrance to the the area (by car) is located on the
right side on the highway 3/4 down the mountain traveling
from Jerusalem to Ma’ale Adumim.

There will be hourly bus rides to the picnic area starting at 9am.
The bus will pickup people every whole hour at city hall.

FYI: Per the Hebrew newspaper, today there are 9,800 households
in Ma’ale Adumim with a population of around 40,800.

Ma’ale Adumim Events for Yom Ha’Zikaron – Israel Memorial Day

Shalom.
Today, May 7, there will be a 4 kilometer march in memory of the fallen at 18:00 starting at the Matnas. Please bring flags and wear blue and white.

At 19:50 there will be a public memorial ceremony in Central Park.
It will be broadcast live on Channel 98 and the Adomediatv Facebook page at:
https://www.facebook.com/adomediatv/

At 21:00 there will be singing of memorial songs
at the city youth center

At 22:00 there will be a special broadcast about the fallen
soldiers from Ma’ale Adumim.

This Sunday, May 5, there will be a blood drive in the mall from 4pm to 10pm
Level -1 near the supermarket

You must bring an ID card.
17 year olds must bring written permission from their parents.

Today, in memory of Ari and Sari Horowitz z”l, Yashar LaChayal
and community members packaged food baskets for 850 needy soldiers
and their families. The packaging and pickup by army base personnel
was done in Kikar Yahalom.

Koshering Dishes and Utensils for Passover and Places in Ma’ale Adumim to Burn Chametz

Hi Everyone!

Below is the schedule where one can kosher/tovel their dishes
and utensils for Pesach in Ma’ale Adumim.

1. Central Synagogue – 96 HaNechalim
2. Mitzpe Nevo Mikva
Wednesday – April 17: 10:00-20:00
Thursday – April 18: 10:00-22:00

3. Beit Knesset Nofei Sela – 2 Hashechem (07)
Wednesday – April 17: 10:00-22:00 only

4. Beit Knesset Or Zaruah and Beit Knesset Or Zaruah yards – HaKaneh (06)
Thursday – April 18: 10:00-22:00

Please bring clean dishes and utensils.
Strong suggestion: Not to use them 24 hours before
bringing them.

There is no charge for the koshering.

On Thursday April 19, there will be 26 special half barrel metal fixtures placed throughout Ma’ale Adumim for burning your chametz. The city workers will make sure that they are dosed with water before being removed by city tractors.
